"While we might easily be lost in place, we would certainly be lost without it" - Claire Bishop.
"The aim of the project is to gain community involvement and break the boundary between the river and the city. Allowing the community to become an integral part of creating the art installation within a significant space in Prato. There will be a reflective element allowing people to leave messages on the pieces fabric they attach, creating a new place within a space."

"The installation consists of multiple paper cups that represent a model of communication which hangs off the existing bridge structure, acting as an instrument to break the social barrier and communication among people with multicultural backgrounds within the city of Prato. When you interact with the installation, there is a sense of the unknown with who you communicate with. The aim of the installation is to create an educational model to make people aware of the culture differences within the city of Prato and that we are all connected in one way or another."

"Based on the rich history of Prato’s Mercatale Bridge, the design proposal explores the significance of the bridge as the connection that enhances the relationship between the Bisenzio River and the city of Prato. In order to strengthen the concept, the design incorporates the gores that serve the city of Prato. Sand is used as a symbolic material that links the whole project together."
